Bind Example Configurations
Caching DNS
A caching DNS is a server configured to perform name resolutions on behalf of its clients and cache the results.
Master and slave DNS servers
Two DNS servers configured as master and slave, sharing the same information (the slave server mirrors them from the master server). The master DNS provides answers to both domain and subdomain related queries.
DNS servers with subdomain delegation
The first DNS server is authoritative for the domain, and delegates the authority for the subdomain to the second DNS server.
DNS views
DNS views provide the ability to serve different information to different clients. DNS will provide different answers depending on the client performing the query.
